What age should I start the training?
The course is designed for young puppies starting their training journey, typically from 20 weeks (5 months) onwards, but the foundations are useful for dogs of any age needing better focus and engagement.
Caroline Slater is a highly respected and experienced dog trainer with over 25 years of hands-on expertise and a strong reputation in the field.
Her career began in 1996 when she earned an honours pass qualification from the British Institute of Professional Dog Trainers (BIPDT). She then founded and ran her own successful pet dog training school, K92000, in the North West of England for 25 years, offering classes from puppy foundations through to advanced training.
Caroline led a highly acclaimed dog display team that performed at prestigious venues including Sandringham and in the main arena at Crufts. She has also competed at top levels with her gundogs, trained and handled dogs in the demanding sport of IPO (now IGP), and achieved NASDU certification in security dog handling.
Throughout her career, she has continually expanded her skills by attending numerous specialist courses.
Now based in Scotland, Caroline remains active in the gundog world, regularly competing and running her Labradors in tests and trials. She offers dog training holidays, along with online courses, allowing her to share her extensive knowledge with handlers across the UK and beyond.
