πHuge congratulations to Caroline Slater, who was placed 3rd at novice field trial yesterday, with her talented dog Kayteridge Donβt Stop! π π
Her hard work, training, and dedication really showed, especially with that fantastic blind retrieve on the hen bird floating down the far side of the river. π―
The day was blessed with perfect weather as competitors and their dogs walked along the breathtaking Findhorn River, where salmon were jumping, and some truly challenging retrieves kept everyone on their toes. With a mix of game like hare, snipe, and pheasant, the competition was fierce, and every dog was pushed to their limits.
A massive thank you to:
Moray Firth Spaniel & Retriever Club
The Judges: Ally Kennedy, Gary Wood, Roddy McBain, and Amy Higgs
The skilled guns: Ian McCann, Roddy Forbes, Andy, Michael, Bob, and Paul
The wonderful Erica Munro Ferguson for keeping everyone organised as dog steward
And to Sarah Winter for all her hard work behind the scenes
It was a privilege to compete alongside such talented handlers and dogs, and the camaraderie made the day even more special.
What a day to remember! π
